Hiking Club is meeting on Sabbath, May 21, 2:15 – 2:30 at the church parking lot to organize carpooling for a hike. The suggested plan is to enter Dupont Forest area and take the Lake Imaging Trail, modified to end at Glassy Creek Falls, approx. 1.5 miles in and 1.5 miles back. The club is always open to suggestions for different trails. This summer the plan is to move on to higher elevation with cooler temps. On Sabbath, bring water, family/friends and come enjoy God’s creation together in fellowship.
Card Making Class - Will take a break for the summer, June/July/August and will resume in September.
Celebration of Life—Dr. PJ Moore, Jr., 102 years old, passed away at his home in Clermont, FL on April 6. He was a tower of strength to the local Fletcher SDA community and had great influence in the presence of the community of today. He provided exceptional medical care to thousands of residents of Western North Carolina. The public is invited to attend an informal celebration of his life and visitation with family at the Lelia Patterson Center on Saturday afternoon May 28 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm p.m. The family requests that instead of sending flowers, donations be made to the PJ Moore Fund at Fletcher Academy, P.O. Box 5440, Fletcher, NC 28732.
Lake Junaluska Camp Meeting - is happening once again. Don’t miss this opportunity for spiritual renewal and Christian fellowship. May 29-June 4 at Lake Junaluska Assembly, 20 Chapel Dr, Lake Junaluska, NC 28745. Theme: The Gospel Changes Everything. Run4Life 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run at Carolina Conference Camp Meeting will be held Friday, June 3, 8 AM by the Open-air Gym at Lake Junaluska Assembly. Run or walk and bring a friend. Registration is free. Awards will be given to overall winners and age-category winners. Please note that walk-up race registration will close at 7:30 AM on Friday morning. For a chance to receive a medal, you must register prior to 7:30 AM. For those who need assistance with registration, race staff will be available to help yon Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the Terrace Hotel between 5:30 and 7:00 PM or on Friday morning between 6:45 and 7:30 AM.
