CHURCH LIFE

We welcome you as you worship with us today and hope your relationship with Christ is enriched as a result.

 

Today We Celebrate the baptism of two new members to our Church family, Sparrow Branks and Anna Doalson.  We welcome them to the family and ask for God’s richest blessings in their lives.

Come Share the Joy at a Grandparents Shower for Pastor Gary & Malia Tolbert and their two new Grandbabies, tomorrow, November 23, from 2 to 4 pm at the Fletcher Church Fellowship Hall. This is a Target and Babies-R-Us Gift Card Shower.  Matt & Joey Tolbert’s Lela Joy was born on August 15, 2008 and David & Holly Tolbert’s baby is due in December.  Bring one of your own baby pictures for a game. Pictures will be returned at the end of the game.  For more information call Vangie at 696-7984.

The AdventurerClub is collecting non-perishable foods for the Community Services Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes and the Hendersonville Rescue Mission. You are invited to  add to the food displayed in the Church foyer.

During the Holiday Season everyone is invited to come and try the adult choir and share the joy of the season by singing in special holiday programs. The next rehearsal will beWednesday, December 3, at 7:30pm in the sanctuary.  See the flyer on the table in the lobby for more information or call Rob at

Fishers of Men:  Join Sachi and Dawn, at Hendersonville SDA Church Fellowship Hall, December 5-7 for a dynamic seminar on how to share your faith. On Friday, December 5 at 6:00pm, come hungry for dinner followed by the seminar and learn how to share Jesus in an irrefutable way.  Sabbath, at 3:00pm discover how easy it is to make clear and Christ-centered Bible studies.  On Sunday, after the 10:00am brunch, learn how to find souls on the verge of the kingdom.

It’s Time Again for our Annual Foster Children’s Christmas Party here at the Fletcher Church, Sunday, December 7.  We will need lots of baked goodies for this party.  If you can and would like to help with this, please contact Jennifer Heatherly at 808-5665 ASAP.  Thank you for your interest in helping.

Children's Choir, for children ages 4 and up. Next practice will be on Wednesday, December 10, at 5:00pm.  Call Rob at 989-1856 for more information.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service  will be held at the Fletcher Church on December 24.  Plan now to come and celebrate, through music and word, the Gift of Salvation that God gave us through the birth of Jesus.

2009 Devotional Books:  Order will be placed at the end of this month. Please fill out one of the pink order sheets (on the table in the lobby) and put it in the offering plate or turn in to the Church office.  You can also call your order in to the Church office at 684-0332.

CD’s & DVD’s of the Worship Service are now available in the lobby shortly after the service.  Donations are greatly appreciated for helping with  the costs of this ministry.

COMMUNITY NEWS

The Arden Church will be hosting a vespers benefit concert today, November 22, at 5:00pm, for the Chile Mission Trip.  Music from several local musicians in both English and Spanish will be featured. Come enjoy the music to close the Sabbath and support the families that are sacrificing to go to Chile to help build a church there.

“Silent Night, Holy Night” will be presented by Captain Gilmer School at the Fletcher Church on Thursday December 4, at 7:00 pm.  Come for a special night of drama and music dedicated to our service men and women who have served or are serving our country.  A special love offering will be taken to purchase care packages for our soldiers. Please come and support our students, as well as our service men and women.

Attention All Veterans and Service Men and Women of America:  Captain Gilmer School will be honoring you during our Christmas Program on Thursday, December 4. Please come as our guests of honor.  You will receive a small token of our appreciation for your service.  Feel free to come in uniform. Contact your fellow veterans and bring them along too.

Morning Song Music’s Christmas Concert is coming to the Lelia Patterson Center Sunday evening, December 14, at 7:00pm.  This annual national tour features four premier Christian vocalists: Steve Darmody, Jennifer LaMountain, Angela Bryant-Brown and Rudy Micelli.  Information brochures are on the table in the lobby.

Thank you all for saving your Box Tops for Education for Captain Gilmer School.  With your help, we have been able to purchase new books for our library.Our next submission date is in February.  Please continue to collect Box Tops for us.  They may be turned in to the basket at the Church, or to the First Grade classroom at CGS. We appreciate your continued support.
